Full Disclosure: When You’re An Addams

The Addams Family musical, directed by Mrs. Tara Lyons, was phenomenal. Performance times included: November 3-5 at 7:00 pm and November 6 at 2:00 pm. Members of the community buzzed about it the whole weekend and thought the show was absolutely hilarious. Montana Lindahl (12), who played the role of Morticia, exclaimed that the show was “comedy gold.” Many teachers commented on how well the casting brought out the students’ talents and fit their personalities. Mrs. Jennie Marx said, “It’s like the characters were made for the cast this year.”
A production this great, however, could not have come about without immense effort and time put into practice and great leadership. A senior leader, Ombeni Goss (12), solemnly said, “The Musical was the best thing that has ever happened to me and I miss it everyday.” Goss, as well as all of the other Seniors, were so valued and will be missed immeasurably.
During practice, cast members split time to work on learning choreography for dances, singing, speaking lines, and working on set-work when they were not needed on stage. Not only were the cast members working hard, but other students and members of our community helped out with choreography, set-work, tech team, and the pit band.
Cast members continued to develop and evolve their characters up to the very last performance. Kari Ofte (12), who played the role of Grandma, declared, “The show was phantasmagorical.”
Between drinking Vitamin-C backstage and the chants before every performance, the cast made so many great memories. The bond between the cast members was powerful, and everyone had a fantastic time on and off the stage.
