Westby Area High School Seniors dominate the podium at the high school rodeo in September
Barrel racers Olson and Simonson proudly hold their winning belt buckles in September, 2022.
September 17 and 18, 2022, Gabrielle Olson (12) and Rachel Simonson (12) competed in Manawa, Wisconsin as a part of Wisconsin High School Rodeo Association. They participated in the barrel racing competition, in which you complete a 3 leaf clover pattern on your horse without knocking into barrels. When a barrel is knocked over, the rider gets a penalty, adding to overall time. Whoever completes the pattern the quickest wins. Simonson placed first and Olson placed third for the average in barrel racing that weekend.
