Westby Area High School’s construction continues into the fall this year, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on the steps of the new high school entrance on the Friday of homecoming week, October 1st, 2022. The chief architect, school board president,  and school superintendent Steve Michaels gave brief speeches to mark the occasion, and the high school principal Robert Bothe, contractor from Miron, and a scattering of news reporters and local citizens observed. Choir teacher Tara Lyons directed choral students in singing the national anthem on the new steps leading to the high school. The ceremony culminated in a burst of confetti “ribbon.”
