Tech Team Update
Tech Team runs the WAPAC backstage
The WAPAC Tech Team, headed by Mr. Dahlen, is the group responsible for the technology based behind the scenes of various performances in the Westby Area Performing Arts Center. Team members handle all of the lighting on stage, including a pre-programed light system run by two or three students, along with two spotlights that are used when a certain person or place needs to be lit on stage. In addition, the audio system, run by Mr. Dahlen, has the ability to control microphone levels and the sound effects used during a performance. A few students help backstage with moving props, or with any costume changes or microphone swaps that need to happen during the school musical. One or two students on the tech team also help the ushers with the ticketing system for the musical and any other concerts that take place in the WAPAC. The latest performance the WAPAC Tech Team worked on was the school production of The Addams Family in early November of 2022. If you are interested in joining the Tech Team to help with next year’s musical, let Mr. Dahlen know at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.
